More banana-based singing today at Morris Minors! Thanks to all who made it along. Lovely to have some new adults and babies join us, as well as lots of familiar faces.

Bananas of the World Unite:
Bananas of the world, U.....nite! (2, 3, 4)
Pick banana, pick, pick banana
Peel banana, peel, peel banana
Chop banana, chop, chop banana
Mash banana, mash, mash banana
Blend banana, blend blend banana
Drink banana, drink, drink banana
Go bananas, go, go bananas!!!!
Bananas of the world, U.....nite!

Just realised that pretty much describes baby Dot's snack times...

It's sung here at the Royal Albert Hall Proms would you believe? (I think this is actually the version I meant to do...it changed in my memory!)

And here's a very elegant (?) version with variations:

Mama, will you buy me a banana? Might send you crazy, but it's a good one for warming up those vocal cords. Some versions here (I did not know this song was so popular in Scotland) and here (if you read music, this is our version).

We recapped Mama Don't Allow and Sail Away ladies, and lots of other old favourites.

What Shall We Do With the Drunken Sailor was great to sing with you all. And in three parts, just like that! Here's a video with some suitably gruesome lyrics. Hope we can come up with some of our own next week...

It's amazing what you find on the internet... A drunken sailor opus?

There are SO many versions on youtube - I could be here all night.

See you next Thursday!

P.S. Sorry there are no recordings straight from the mum/dad's mouth this week... I forgot the recording device :-(
